UGH I Hate these questions because I feel that in reality we are ALL IN the process of LEARNING... and who am I to JUDGE YOU and tell you what you need to do differently.. BUT because you asked here is my OPINION...
(OK I watch 3 videos) I watched the one you have on main right now smokey Eye ... and I watch a gay pride contest and I watched the one where you wished everyone happy mothers day...
NOW>.. IM not sure what you are going for but I will answer as if you are STEREOTYPICALLY GOING for the STAGE LOOK of a DRAG QUEEN.....
OK FIRST......... YOU ARE A CUTE BOY.....
BUT you need to remember you a BOY... you are NOT a trannie... you are not on hormones and you are not pumped to look like a woman you are a BOY.... and MY FIRST criticism is that you did nothing to change your boy face into a girl face.... and I think this is the MOST COMMON MISTAKE especially by boys that learn thier makeup from girls.. they just need eye liner and blush and we need SOOOO MUCH MORE... OK.... SO DONT forget your contour and Highlight... and reshaping of your face....
Second.... YOU paint for UP CLOSE.... here is an excercise you should try... (Besides eyeliner and mascara) DO your makeup 2 feet from a mirror. WHEN your done with your makeup you should be able to stand on the other side of the room and SEE YOUR FACE in the mirror... In theatre we call this PAINTING FOR THE BACK ROW.....
YES sometimes the person in the FRONT row may think your Wrinkles are too dark or too defined... but the guy in the back row can see that your doing character makeup to look like an old lady etc....
(for example... in your gay pride video we could BARELY SEE the rainbow under your eye -- even on a camera held by you in your own hand -- now imagine if you were on stage NOBODY in the room would know you had a rainbow but you... and that goes for everything.. your eyeliner .. your lip liner... your EVERYTHING... OVER EMPHASIZE IT
I do think your eye beat was SICK int he smokey eye video... but again you forgot the rest of your face...
Many makeup artists are trained for PHOTO SHOOTS where they have a zoom lense and a graphic artist that can re touch and darken the eyeliner if needed for the ad... but in the theatre.... its VERY DIFFERENT... and often times hey look at us and say WOW that is TOO MUCH MAKEUP... but again... stand 100 yards away and tell me im wearing too much face.. and put a BRIGHT FOLLOW SPOT or stage lights (that wash out my face) and tell me Im wearing too much?
its a WHOLE nother ball game... If your painting for REAL GIRL ... lets walk around the mall then your 1/2 way there.... (BUT you still need to contour with SOFT FISHY COLORS to get rid of your boy face) but for stage... you need to turn everything up times 10
BUT I DO think your VERY TALLENTED :) and CUTE :) KEEP up the good work :) XOXOXO
